About Little Kin
A place to grow, play, and belong.
Little Kin was born from a longing for something simple: connection.
Connection between mothers who are moving through the beautiful, messy, transformative season of raising young children. Connection between little ones as they discover the world beside one another. And connection to the natural world that surrounds us.We believe that motherhood was never meant to be experienced alone. In this sacred season, friendship matters. Having someone to sit beside. Someone who understands the changing identities, and the extraordinary love that comes with raising a child. We hope Little Kin becomes a place where friendships have room to grow—for mothers and for their children. Not through pressure or perfection, but simply through showing up.
Childhood should have room to be wild.
We believe childhood deserves time.
Time to wander.
Time to wonder.
Time to get muddy.
Time to climb, collect, build, imagine, and explore.
We believe in childhood that is a little messy.
A little wild.
A little slower.
When children are given space to explore freely, nature becomes one of their greatest teachers.
A fallen branch can become a bridge.
A collection of rocks can become a treasure.
A tree can become a castle.
And the smallest discoveries—a bird overhead, an acorn in a tiny hand, a ladybug resting on a leaf—can become moments of wonder.
Rooted in Sonoma County
Little Kin was created here, in Sonoma County, a place I have been lucky enough to call home.
There is something incredibly special about growing up surrounded by so much diversity in the natural world. We have towering redwoods and open grasslands. Mountains and winding trails. Wildflowers, creeks, rocky coastlines, and the ocean.
This place has shaped me, and it continues to shape the childhood I hope to create for my own son.
Little Kin is, in many ways, a love letter to this place.
A reminder to slow down and notice where we are.
To watch the seasons change.
To return to the trees.
To wander through tall grass.
To feel the sun on our skin and breathe deeply beneath an open sky.
There is so much here for our children to discover.
For the mothers, too.
Little Kin is not only for children. It is for mothers. For the mother looking for friendship. For the mother who is new to this season of life and the mother who has been mothering for many seasons. For the mother who is wanting a village. For the mother who simply wants to spend a morning outside with her child and other people who understand.Motherhood changes us.You can come exactly as you are. There is room for all of it here. Our hope is simple. That Little Kin becomes a place where friendships begin. Where children grow alongside one another. Where mothers find familiar faces and people they can call when motherhood feels big. Where little ones have the freedom to just be children. And where, together, we can remember the beauty in simplicity. Because sometimes all we need is a blanket on the grass, the warmth of the sun, children playing nearby, and someone beside us who understands.
